Kunal Karan Kapoor aka Sid from Ziddi Dil – Maane Na has been winning hearts with his role and continues to be loved. While the show has kept fans hooked to the story, the performances too, have been top notch. The actor spoke to India Forums about the prep that goes into the show, bond with co-stars, what’s in store, and more. Read the conversation here.
What kind of prep went into the show before the shoot and what prep continues to go into the character?
Sunshine had the entire team bond well before the shoot by means of readings and workshops which set the ball rolling that continues to roll as we shoot fresh episodes. Before and during the shoot, we focus on the W’s of a character, the who, why, what, where of a character’s motivation and most times, we are all just having a lot of fun with the process.
How do you bond with the cast?
Splendidly well. It’s a delight to work with this team and I love the fact that all of us are such good friends. It enables work to not feel like work.

How ziddi is your dil, as in how adamant are you as a person?
When I want something I can be quite adamant and honestly, to survive in this industry as an actor, Zid is a pre-requisite. The zid to do and be better.
A fan asks where do you see yourself in 10 years, a director or an actor? Will we see you turn to direction soon?
I keep pondering that myself till I realise now is passing by..so I have stopped thinking 10 years in the future. Life is uncertain and right now is beautiful.
Also, finally, if you could tell us something about what’s in store ahead for the viewers?
Sid is finally part of the academy and his journey has only just begun..all I’m allowed to say at this time is that there’s a lot of masala to look forward to.
