Anjan Srivastav on how senior actors will die if they don’t get to act

The current situation of COVID-19 has been quite tricky indeed where an array of shows have been shifted to a different location to keep the show going on and furthermore, shoot in a secure bio-bubble.

While this is working out reasonably well, the one thing that isn’t working out is the fact that senior actors have to unfortunately stay away from this setting as makers don’t wanna risk elderly people in tough situations.

This is a concern for those actors too where they not only miss work but are waiting and raring to get back to it. Talking about it to ETimes TV, actor Anjan Srivastava, who is 78 years old and stars in Wagle Ki Duniya opened up on the concern.

He said, “They have tied me up at home although I am ready to work and I have been getting messages from people and fans of Wagle Ki Duniya who want to see me again on the show but my producers are worried about me. They are shooting in a bio bubble in Silvassa with minimal cast and crew.”

Srivastav tested negative all the four times recently but co-star Bharti Achrekar tested positive recently but is now recovering. About the same, he said, “Bharati has tested negative but she still has weakness.”

Srivastav suggested that the makers can shoot with him and Sumit Raghavan who plays his son in the show, but adds a rider saying, “Where will they shoot with us both Gujarat and Maharashtra have banned senior citizens from coming on the sets which is not fair to us. Artiste kabhi buddha nain hota –agar woh senior citizen bhi aur agar use acting karne nahi mile toh who waise hi khatam ho jayega.” (If a senior actor does not get to act he will die) He adds, “This time the virus is attacking the younger generation which is also a growing concern for us. I have heard of a surge in cases on shooting sets of Goa and other states where shootings are happening and Hyderabad units are worst hit.”

We do hope situation gets better for one and all soon enough.
