Divyanka Tripathi on Khatron Ke Khiladi: Always wanted to do it, Won’t be easy to stay away from Vivek

Divyanka Tripathi is all set to embark upon a new journey as she will next be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi season 11. The actress had recently turned host for Crime Patrol, and soon enough, we heard about her being a part of the stunt-based reality show, and fans are mighty excited. With the show, the actress will be seen doing stunts and performing them as she unleashes the adventure junkie in her.

We got in touch with the actress, where she spoke about taking up Khatron Ke Khiladi, being away from husband Vivek Dahiya, and more.

Divyanka Tripathi, the name has been associated with work that speaks volumes, how do you feel about that?

I am humbled, but I think it is because of the variety of work that I have chosen, the diversity in content that I chose to work for, I always tried not to repeat the same kind of character twice and I always took up challenges to the extent where I was not even sure whether I’ll be able to deliver to the fullest. However, I tried, I learned and moulded myself as per the character and the requirement of the project and it just worked. I think it is about believing in what you do and my belief in myself is what has lead me here today.

Your next is in cape town with KKK, how did you come about doing this project?

I’ve always been an adventure junkie but unfortunately, I never got to experience it as much as I’d like to. Every time I watched Khatron Ke Khiladi, I would think to myself how it would be amazing to be amongst the reptiles and do all the stunts, battle my own fears, luckily, I got offered this show at the right time when my previous show ended and I pounced on the opportunity.

Are you scared of what awaits you there?

Yes, I am, a bit and that is exactly what makes it worthwhile and exciting, because where else will I deliberately put myself in danger of different sorts, and when else would I attempt to conquer my fears, so this is it. I am really excited and also a bit nervous.

What are your expectations from the show?

Well, I want to perform as many stunts as possible with great success and I want to remember them for the years to come and tell those stories to my grandchildren.

Your Take on OTT and content on the same? Do we see you in more web shows anytime soon?

I am a total OTT audience and I am totally hooked to it. I feel the content on OTT is quite daring, it is out of the box, and they take chances, they are unabashed, and thankfully, they are not so much driven by TRPs or box office expectations. They have more of freedom, I would say, in terms of storytelling and content creation, it is more satisfying I’d say, for an actor, and the makers as well. I would love to be a part of good quality web shows, I am just keeping my fingers crossed.

Is Bollywood something in your mind? If yes, who are the makers you’d like to work with?

Of course, that is the next step, doing web series and then films. When I look at a film, the entire experience in only two hours is such that the story leaves an impression on your heart, even the characters, for that matter, I want to do something like that. I have faith in myself and I know I have the potential, I am just waiting for the right opportunity, because I have been getting offers, but that one right offer at the right time will make things right. I have got a list of female filmmakers I would love to work with, like Zoya Akhtar, Reema Katgi, Gauri Shinde, Meghna Gulzar, Nandita Das, among others. I have seen their work and I have admired their work. When I see their moves, I feel like this is where I want to begin, so I hope that someday, I get to work with these powerful women of Bollywood.

I’ve always been an adventure junkie but unfortunately, I never got to experience it as much as I’d like to. Every time I watched Khatron Ke Khiladi, I would think to myself how it would be amazing to be amongst the reptiles and do all the stunts, battle my own fears.

It’s going to be a long time away from Vivek how are you both taking it? Is this the first time the distance is as much?

It is not easy for both of us to be away for such a long time. I doubt we have ever been away for so long, so we are actually preparing each other step by step. Like me, ordering additional groceries for him so that he is comfortable, him taking care of every item in my luggage, so that I don’t miss out on anything, whereas preparing each other. It is going to be a very difficult phase for both of us, we have shed tears, and we have given extra love to each other to make up for the days we will be away for each other for so long.

Covid has taken the world by surprise with its spread and lives it is taking. As a celebrity, if you could lend your voice to reach people, what would you like to tell them?

COVID should be the biggest teacher our generation could have got. We have learned so much in the last two years. To begin with, Indians have started waiting for their queues, waiting for their turn, not getting overloaded in a lift, maintaining distance, so these are small things that we have learned here. But the time is also teaching us that we are only for a limited time on this Earth, so we should make the most of it, express love to family and friends as much as possible, and we should not delay in doing so, because ‘choti si zindagi hai, yehi mauka hai, apne sapne jeene ke liye b yhi pal hai, pyar karne k liye bhi’. We are seeing how in a matter of 5-10 days lives change, so live your life on today’s date.

Khatron Ke Khiladi season 11 will also see Nikki Tamboli, Abhinav Shukla, Rahul Vaidya, Vishal Aditya Singh, Arjun Bijlani, Sourabh Raaj Jain, among others.
