Got similar role offers post ‘Ziddi Dil Maane Na’ but I declined: Karan Veer Mehra of ‘Woh Toh Hai Albela’

Star Bharat show ‘Woh Toh Hai Albela’ has kept the fans glued to the TV screens. The show is produced by Rajan Shahi’s production house Directors’ Kut productions. The show stars’ popular faces from Indian Television industry like Shaheer Shaikh, Hiba Nawab, Kushwant Walia, Karan Veer Mehra among others.

The show recently took a leap of around a year post which Sayuri has changed her identity as Sanchi and has been staying with Vikrant and his daughter. Vikrant has forced Sayuri to be with him by kidnapping her daughter. Unwantedly, Sayuri is staying with Vikrant for the sake of safety of her and Kanha’s daughter.

Actor Karan Veer Mehra has entered the show as a mysterious character in the name of Vikrant. He was last seen in Sony SAB’s ‘Ziddi Dil Maane Na’ wherein, he played a wife-beater. We asked him if he fears getting type-cast for playing such dark characters, he said, “Honestly, I don’t let myself get type cast. Before ‘Ziddi Dil..’ I was doing a series of comedy shows, based on slice of life comedy and then after a point, I put my foot down and decided to challenge myself and do negative shaded roles. After ‘Ziddi Dil..’ I got around six to seven offers of characters exact similar to what I played in the show. I didn’t take it because there wasn’t anything new for me to do and grow as an actor. But when Rajan Shahi came up to me with Vikrant’s role and told me that he is Gujrati and a doctor, I felt there’s a difference and there is a lot more than what I’ve performed before. Vikrant is more evil but comes across as a very helpful person. Hence, I took up the show”.

He further added, “I have played negative characters before but this one’s quite different. Vikrant is a doctor, a psycho and has been troubling the leads on a very high level. It’s quite fun and I’m quite liking the whole concentration on language, the dialect, pronunciation of certain words plus I’m getting to add on my expertise into the character. So, it’s definitely fun”.
