Salman Khan will reprise Ek Tha Tiger role with Sultan director Ali Abbas Zafar

After the mind-boggling success of this year’s Sultan, looks like director Ali Abbas Zafar is aiming higher. He’s all set to make the sequel to Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger, which came out in 2012 and shattered box office records by collecting more than Rs 250 crores.

After Sultan finally entered the Rs 300-crore club with the elites like 3 Idiots, PK and Dhoom 3, looks like director Ali Abbas Zafar is aiming even higher by making a sequel to one of Salman Khan’s most successful movies. Salman will start shooting for the movie after Kabir Khan’s Tubelight.

Kabir Khan’s Tubelight has Salman Khan acting opposite a Chinese actor Zhu Zhu, and is reportedly set on the India-China border. Another cross border romance are the speculations surrounding the film.

Ek Tha Tiger saw Salman Khan play a RAW agent, as he battles his way out in the world of Intelligence assets. Tubelight is geared up to release on Eid, 2017, so the sequel tentatively titled Tiger Zinda Hai might hit the screens only on Eid, 2018. Salman’s films with an Eid release have all done tremendous business, and we guess director Zafar is banking on it. Literally.
