Sunny Deol got his first break in Bollywood in 1983 with Betaab. The film turned out to be a big hit and the rest is history. And 30 years later, Deol wants to launch his son Karan in Betaab Again.
The 58-year-old actor was looking for a good script for a very long time to launch his son in Bollywood. And what better film to launch his son than Betaab Again.
According to a report in DNA, the Yamla Pagla Deewana actor wanted to rope in Amrita Singh and Saif Ali’s daughter Sara Ali Khan opposite his son. Since Sunny made his debut opposite Amrita.
But that didn’t work out. A source was quoted as telling the daily, “The idea was to recreate the Betaab magic. Sunny even called up Amrita and told her he would like to cast Sara opposite Karan. However, it was not meant to be. Amrita had to turn down the offer as by then, Sara was already under contract with Dharma Productions — she will be making her debut in a film produced by Karan Johar.”
It seems that Sunny will have to look for another female lead for Betaab Again. It would be interesting to see which star kid he approaches since Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi is also planning to make her Bollywood debut soon.
